Your data, kept simple.
We only collect what we need to tell you when Norvela launches. We never sell it, and you can ask us to delete it at any time.
The short version
- We collect your email, and optionally your first name and where you'd like to travel next.
- We use it to email you about early access and the launch of the Norvela app.
- We don't use advertising or tracking cookies, and we don't sell or share your data for marketing.
- You can unsubscribe, see your data or have it deleted whenever you like by emailing privacy@norvela.co.uk.
1. Who we are
Norvela ("we", "us") is a travel app in development for young travellers. We are the data controller for the personal data collected through norvela.co.uk. You can contact us about anything in this policy at privacy@norvela.co.uk.

Like every website, our hosting provider briefly processes technical information such as your IP address to deliver the site and keep it secure. We don't use it to identify you.
To count how many people visit the site, we create an anonymous code from your IP address and browser type that changes every day. It can't be turned back into your IP address or used to recognise you, and we don't use cookies to do it. We do this under our legitimate interest in understanding how many people visit.
3. Why we use it, and our legal basis
We use your details to keep a waitlist, email you about early access, launch news and product updates, and understand roughly where our early users want to travel. Our legal basis is your consent, which you give by submitting the form. You can withdraw it at any time, and doing so won't affect anything we did before.
4. Cookies
This site doesn't set any advertising, analytics or tracking cookies. Fonts, images and map files are served from our own site, not third-party services. Our private admin page stores a login key in your browser for that session only, which is strictly necessary and only used by our team.
5. Who we share it with
We never sell your data. We use a small number of trusted providers to run the waitlist, who process data only on our instructions:
- Vercel Inc. hosts the website and stores the waitlist securely in its London (UK) data centre.
- FormSubmit emails our team a notification each time someone joins, containing the details you entered.
- Apple (iCloud Mail) is the email service that receives those team notifications.
Some of these providers are based in, or may process data in, the United States. Where that happens, transfers are protected by the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or the UK-US Data Bridge, as applicable.
If you join our WhatsApp channel from the thank-you page, WhatsApp's own privacy policy applies to that.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your waitlist details until the Norvela app launches and for up to 12 months afterwards, or until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them, whichever comes first. After that we delete them.
7. Your rights
Under UK and EU data protection law you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you
- have it corrected if it's wrong
- have it deleted
- withdraw your consent and unsubscribe from our emails
- restrict or object to how we use it
- receive it in a portable format
To use any of these rights, email privacy@norvela.co.uk from the address you signed up with. We'll respond within one month. Every email we send will also include a way to unsubscribe.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, or your local data protection authority if you're in the EU. We'd appreciate the chance to sort it out first.
8. Keeping it safe
Your data is stored in private, encrypted storage that isn't publicly accessible. Only our team can view the waitlist, using a private key.
9. Children
Norvela is built for travellers aged 16 and over. If you're under 16, please don't join the waitlist. If we learn we've collected data from someone under 16, we'll delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we'll update this page and the date below. If the change is significant, we'll email everyone on the waitlist.
